Moin Uddin re-appointed BREB chairman

Major General (retired) Moin Uddin has been re-appointed chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) for the next three years on a contractual basis days after his retirement.

The Public Administration Ministry has issued a circular in this regard on January 10, 2018.

Moin, who went on retirement on December 31, 2017, after nearly seven years of his job as the chairman of the electrification board and played a dynamic and effective role in extending the board`s client base to over 21 million from 7.4 million.

At the same time, under his tenure BREB managed to cut down system loss to 09.59 per cent from 16.64 per cent, while the number of power beneficiaries rose to 77 per cent from 36 per cent.

Moin was born in 1961 in Feni district. After completion of BSc engineering degree (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from BUET, he joined the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME), Bangladesh Army and got commission as Lieutenant on February 09, 1983.

He also did his MSc engineering degree (Electrical and Electronics - Power) from BUET.

Major General Moin Uddin has joined Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board as chairman on 24 October 2011.
