Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) will celebrate its 16th founding anniversary with a two-day programme beginning March 12.
On this occasion, BERC will organise a seminar on Emerging Role of BERC in 2021 and 2041 on March 13 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, Said BERC Chairman Monowar Islam.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has kindly consented to grace the occasion as chief guest. Adviser to the Prime Minister for Power and Energy Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, Principal Coordinator for SDGs Affairs at Prime Minister`s Office Md Abul Kalam Azad, Energy and Mineral Resources Division Secretary Nazimuddin Chowdhury, Power Division Secretary Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, Consumers Association of Bangladesh President Ghulam Rahman and FBCCI President Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) will attend the seminar as special guests.
BERC member (Power) Md Mizanur Rahman will present the keynote paper while BERC Chairman Monowar Islam will deliver welcome speech at the seminar.
BERC was established on March 13, 2003 through a legislative act of the government of Bangladesh.
The commission has the mandate to regulate electricity, gas and petroleum products for the whole of Bangladesh.
