Nasrul Hamid receives Spain`s highest civil honour

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has received the ‘Commitment to the Number of the Civil Merit Order’ the highest civil honor of Spain.

Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Alvaro de Salas handed over the award to Nasrul here on February 17, said a press release from Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

Spanish Monarch Felipe VI gave the award to Nasrul for his excellent contribution in developing the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Spain.

"Through this, the relations between the two countries will become stronger in the future and Spain feels proud to adorn the state minister with the honour," the Spanish ambassador said.

Nasrul Hamid, on the occasion, thanked Spain for its continuous support to Bangladesh in the UN on different issues.

"Bangladesh and Spain hold the same views on global warming, migration, refugee crises, militancy and world peace," he said, thanking the Spanish King for his kind gesture.

The state minister said the public and private companies of Spain have much scope of working in the power and energy sector of Bangladesh.
