China keen to invest $100bn for building materials production

Chinese investors have showed interest to invest $ 100 billion in Bangladesh for building materials production.

Visiting an eight-member Chinese delegation today at a meeting with the Board of Investment (BoI) placed their proposal held at BoI board room, said a BoI press release on Monday.

The Chinese businessmen initially would keen to invest $ 2 billion and set up factory on 400 acres of land.

Peidong Li, Assistant Director, China Building Materials Federation, Beijing is leading the delegation.

The ambit of the delegation was to assess the investment climate and regulatory environment of Bangladesh, as they contemplating to select Bangladesh as an investment destination apart from some other countries.

The meeting presided over by Nabhash Chandra Mandal, BoI Executive Member, where other officials were present.

Nabhash Chandra Mandal highlighted the investment opportunities and regulatory environment that prevailing in Bangladesh.
