Harsh action against adulterated petrol pump owners

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the refilling stations will be raided to stop adulteration of oil from Thursday this week.

Speaking with the journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday, Nasrul said, “Anyone found guilty will immediately lose their licence.”

The State Minister also said that drives will be conducted to remove unauthorised petrol pumps, especially from the residential areas.

“The owners of the pump have to shift he pump elsewhere, otherwise those will be evicted,” said Nasrul.

About reducing the price of oil, he said that a circular to adjust prices of octane, petrol, diesel and kerosene will be issued within ‘seven to 10 days’.

“It will be reduced in three phases”, he said adding that the first phase will take place within ten days and the next phase will be in another six to seven months.

The third phase will follow in six to seven months’ time, he added.
