Nasrul invites Thai businessmen to invest in Bangladesh’s energy sector

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Monday invited the Thai businessmen to invest in Bangladesh.

Nasrul was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Bangladesh Trade and Investment Expo 2016’ held at Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, said a press release.

He termed Bangladesh as ‘favorable’ for making investment, especially in power and energy sector as the investor’s investment in this sector is secured by the state in Bangladesh.

Nasrul lauded the expo saying that such expo provided opportunity of bringing the businessmen, policymakers and private sectors in one platform and provides them the opportunity to share ideas.

He also said that if Bangladesh and Thailand, both members of The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) could work together, then they could work for mutual benefit.

Tofail Ahmed, Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh, Atchaka Sibunruang, Industry Minister of Thailand and Sayeda Muan Tasnim, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand were also present at the occasion.
