The government is seeking Tk 7,514 crore in foreign assistance to implement transmission line for power evacuation facilities of the Rooppur nuclear power plant.
The Power Division last month wrote to the Economic Relation Division (ERD) urging the latter to look for funds from various development partners for the project.
The implementing agency also sent a preliminary project plan to the Physical Infrastructure Division of the Planning Commission for its approval to search for the funds, a Power Division Official said.
The Power Division would like to implement the project from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 at a cost of Tk 11,233 crore.
On July 26, 2016 the government has signed the country`s largest-ever credit deal worth $11.38 billion with Russia for construction of the 2,400 MW Rooppur nuclear power plant in Pabna.
